Welcome to AISTA, WB

All India Science Teachers’ Association (AISTA), the first of its kind in India, was formed in 1956 at Summer Hills of Shimla, HP state by the science teachers of all levels, scientists and officers associated with Science Institutes of India. The objective of the association was to lend voluntary services for the professional growth of science teachers of schools. Some dedicated science teachers, teacher- educators of science and scientists of West Bengal were attached to AISTA since its birth as state unit of AISTA. The state unit started its OFFICIAL run as All India Science Teachers Association, West Bengal Branch (AISTA, WB Branch) in 1975. In 2012 the state unit was registered in West Bengal under current laws of the state as All India Science Teachers Association, West Bengal (AISTA, WB) where status quo of all membership, assets, liabilities etc. of AISTA, WB Branch were retained. However, this changed unit, while functioning independently, continued to collaborate with the parent AISTA on all national issues.

We aim at inspiring our students to dream more, learn more, do more, and become more in their respective journeys of life.
